We are still in what Malaysian call The Lantern Festival,the Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival. Apart from Halal mooncake that can be easily found at shopping mall, same goes for the lantern. Now The lanterns shape is not according to legends and tradition anymore, my kid just bought 2 lantern from Aeon Jusco. One using battery and another is for manually using fire. They want the lantern because of the Spiderman design and beautiful gold fish that can move (using battery). But my son Spiderman lantern got burn out in fire because we does not have the experience to fire up a lantern.
1 Malaysia Lantern Festival from 21 September to 30 September is organize by Ministry of Tourism Malaysia. Venue is at Central Market Kuala Lumpur.
