They will face the tribunal. Under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, The Tribunal for Consumer Claims (TTPM) will ensure consumer right are protected. This also include foreign tourist who visit Malaysia.
This tribunal is an independence body established under Section 85, Part XII of the Consumer Protection Act 1999. The primary objective of establishing the Tribunal is to provide an alternative forum for consumers to file claims in a simple, inexpensive and speedy manner. So if tourist feel they being cheated when buying something, TTPM will help to process their claim without waiting for 14 days. No need to go to court or appoint lawyers as TTPM will conduct the investigation and claim as soon as possible.
