If you are going to Indonesia, maybe you can consider this resort as a Bali alternative. Parai Pool Villas Resort and Spa. I visit the resort last week and the weather was just nice. Located at the Island of Bangka Belitung.
At first I also confused where is this place in Indonesia. I thought it is near Batam Island, but not. It is near Palembang in Indonesia and 50 mins from Jakarta. Just search for Bangka Belitung at google map. The aerial view is not as detail as in Malaysia map.
Just few information about this resort on the net. Got white sandy beach and crystal clear water. The water is very calm too. Not for the surfer. The resort is 4 star here and it is very affordable. The sea food are fresh from the nearby fishing village.
Parai is among best beaches here, actually there are many good beach in this Island and got coral reef too. Can be considered for your budget travel, safe city and Muslim is the main religion here unlike Bali, so don’t worry about Halal food.
No direct flight from Malaysia, must transit at Jakarta and you can get there by airlines like Lion Air and Garuda.
Many seafood restaurant along the road that you can stop over..We stop at one restaurant called Biru Laut on the way to Parai..
Don’t aspect to a Siam Tom Yam when you order this…the taste is different.
