A Via Ferrata, wow I’m afraid of height already..more pic here.
While I’m browsing the web about Mt. Kinabalu, I stumble upon this website that provide a package for climbers. Oh before that, read the news about our highest peak got a certificate from Guinness book of Record. Of course not the highest peak in the world lah, but the world’s highest via ferrata. Via ferrata? What is that? Sound Italian huh? A via ferrata according to the official website is a device that help us getting to the mountain top. Now it’s consider a save sport for all but still have the element of exteme in it. Made up of a permanent network of iron rungs, rails and cables, this made it accessible to anyone and not just experienced climbers. More about Mt. Kinabalu Via Ferrata here.
Why I’m searching for Mt. Kinabalu activities and package? Because some one ask me if I want to climb somewhere in March or April. I said wow but can I bring my kid? hahah. So this Sky and Land adventure website also give you climbing activities at Mt. Kinabalu. They have 3 itineraries that are Lows Peak, Via Ferrata and Victoria Peak. Judging at the photos, probably you can’t bring you 3 yrs old kid up there. I don’t know about you all avid climber out there. Also definitely not the Victoria Peak as said for pro climbers. They said Via Ferrata for all climbers. But I can see you are walking like near 90 degree at the mountain wall! How for all climbers is that hahah. But maybe it has a special gears that will hook you safely, we must try than we will know.
I have been to Sabah few times, the food is good, the wind is good but never to the Kinabalu, among the mother nature that is listed by UNESCO as a Heritage Site…
i definitely want to try this! and the height is heart stopping! whew… i’m getting scared already while looking at the pix lah… hehe
