Banda Hilir June 17th, Melaka official newspaper MHI reported that an old fort from the Portuguese era in Melaka once being destroyed by British between 1806 and 1807 was founded. The Bastion, Fredrick Hendrick now being excavates, founded on the construction ground at an old Traffic Police Station base. It is believe that the bastion before was a control post build by Portuguese when invaded Melaka in 1511. Before this, 2 more fort has been found near to the A Famosa Fortress and Middleburg Bastion that accidentally found during the Taming Sari Tower development. Middleburg Bastion rebuild work is now near completion.

Excavation work for Fredrick Hendrick Bastion are actively doing by Department of Heritage right now but with caution because don’t want to damage the old rock formation. 1. I bet there’s a lot more fortress and bastion around Banda Hilir. Great job done by
Department of Heritage. They need to form a volunteer squad to participate, contribute and
accelerate the development of tourism sector in Melaka.

    Job Well Done guys.
