Ticket prices to go down at tourist sites in Malacca
MALACCA: The state is to slash ticket prices for several of its tourist attractions by up to 50% to draw more visitors during non-peak periods.
The idea was mooted by the Malacca Tourism Promotion Division in the light of the current global economic downturn. State Tourism, Culture and Heritage executive councillor Datuk Seet Har Cheow said the proposal received the state executive committee’s approval last week.“We are now holding discussions with operators of the attractions on how best to implement it,” he told reporters after opening the World Heritage and Tourism Conference here yesterday on behalf of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam.
