Just to checkout how’s this new Boutique Hotel doing. At present all the review at TripAdvisor are between 4 to 5 rating from 5. A good start for Casa Del Rio.

Checkout their Cuarto del Rio offer here. A special room rates package from 1st July – 30th September 2011.

They got everything by the river – room, cafe, meeting and you can do meeting at The Piazza for that touch of the Mediterranean they say.

Pesta Sungai Melaka 2010



The fiesta is back. Pesta Sungai Melaka 2010 or the Melaka River Festival 2010 will be held from 1st June to 30th June 2010. Easy to say the whole month of June is Melaka River Festival. There will be a lucky draw everyday in the River Festival month. Among the prizes are hotel vouchers, electrical items and many more. An expo / stall will be open through the month of June at Taman Rempah and Dataran Sungai Melaka. The official opening will be on the 5th of June at 7.30pm and there also will be Decorative Boat competition. Other interesting activities are :

Chinese New Year will be next week and Melaka River Got a new Jeweleries!. Come walk or cruise along Melaka river in the evening and enjoy the scenery of 500 assorted lantern scattered along the river bank all the way to Banda Hilir. This is not fundamental rounded lantern but an lantern art with living motives like flowers, animals and legendary tales of the past.

Casa Del Rio… A House Near The River

Another boutique hotel will be up in Melaka by early 2009. Casa means House and Rio means river. Well.. Just wait for another Casa Del Mar! Or house near the sea.Located near the new CIQ complex and easily accessible from Jonker Street or Taman Kota Laksamana. From Banda Hilir you can see the project clearly if you stand at the river bank along Quay Side cafe or the Flor De La Mar Museum.

Ground Breaking Ceremony of Eye on Malaysia – Melaka

At last all the papers were completed and today 9th June 2008 the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Eye on Malaysia – Melaka by Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam Chief Minister of Melaka. Other VIP’s including Datuk Othman Muhamad – State Speaker, Datuk Omar Kasih – State Secretary, Datuk Zainal Husin – UPEN Director, Mr. Adam Young – CEO Eye on Malaysia Melaka. The event took place at Melaka River Mouth in front of the Melaka CIQ and Marina project.

Melaka State Government has appointed Datuk Zainal Husin as a Chairman of Eye on Malaysia Melaka with Mr. Adam Yong as a CEO. The project build on 4 acre state government land. The Ferris Wheel is 60 meter high and 400 tone in weight. With 42 gondola attached this ferris wheel move with its 21 wheel radial using Swiss-German technology. Visitors can see as far as 20 kilometers with the 12 minutes ride. Eye on Malaysia will have a value added that are laser beam and sound with its world largest water screen measuring 90 x 30 meter. Aerospace exhibition also will be available.

Colors of Malaysia Dondang Sayang!

Enjoy Melaka Dondang Sayang in Malay original version, chinese and tamil version! Perform during Melaka River Fiesta Opening Ceremony. Dondang Sayang is Melaka traditional folk song only unique to the State of Melaka. Dondang Sayang is a form of rhythmic quatrain and usually sang by 2 person. This chinese and tamil version are very rare and shows how the multi colors of Malaysia live harmonically.
