Car boot sale is relatively new here. But it’s becoming a popular business approach. Malaysian are used to open air market and we call it ‘pasar malam’ or night market or night bazaar. Where traders and dealers doing business in the open street. No premises just a stall and big tent.
So when the city council introduce Car Boot Sale, the locals can easily adapted it. In Melaka official Car Boot Sale area was introduced on August 2010 at Autocity parking lot Ayer Keroh. Open Sunday from 7.00am to 12.00pm only.

The Beca is still as it is. Like ordinary colorful Melaka beca, but if you closely , you will see the difference clearly at the front wheel.
Yup, its a motorized system that with pull the Beca if the owner want to by pressing the throttle. By using solar powered, the beca don’t need to plug-in at any electrical outlet. The battery will last for 12 hours. The State government is working on it – to Solar Powered all the Melaka Beca.
The advantage is, the Beca can move much further from normal route and maybe the owner can lowered the tickets….

At last the announcement was been made by Prime Minister at 8.10 on 20/10. Announcement was made from Video Conferencing Buletin Utama TV3 at PWTC. At Stadium Hang JEbat Melaka, it was massive 50,000 crowd. Governor,Chief Miniester, Speaker of the House, State Exco Members also celebrating with the people. Also Present at Stadium Hang Jebat Melaka was John Hall – Project Leader, The Global Project on Measuring the Progress of Societies OECD.
