Tourist Arrival in Melaka by Nationality,1999-2006

Melaka records a great number of tourist from all over the world since the early time. The main attraction are historical monument and multi racial community from outside that blends well with the locals. At the end of 2006 Melaka receive about 5.2million tourist that is about 4 times higher than in 1999. Below is the data.

Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2007

Fireworks

Putrajaya International Convention Centre will be the venue for the 1st Malaysia International Fireworks Competition. The magnificent view across the lake overlooked by the grand Seri Gemilang bridge will be the main focus for two weeks. From 18 August 2007 till 2 September 2007, Nations from Australia , Japan , Italy and Malaysia will be competing for the Merdeka trophy.

One Golden Celebration

For two weeks in August, the skies over Putrajaya are to be lit up by a sequence of firework performances to celebrate Malaysia ‘s 50th year of Nationhood. The Malaysia International Fireworks Competition, or MIFC, will be a festival of light, music, colour and culture; providing magical experiences for all that attend in the lead-up to Malaysia ‘s Merdeka Day, Hari Merdeka. During MIFC, renowned international firework teams from around the world will gather in Malaysia to compete in one of the world’s greatest Musical Fireworks Competitions. Regular fireworks displays will be dwarfed by the pyrotechnic artistry at Putrajaya. The shows will be meticulously choreographed to music; the senses will be thrilled by dazzling incandescent displays that will dance to inspirational compositions. For at least twenty minutes on each competitive night, the maestros of the night will amaze spectators with breathtaking presentations, judged by a panel of celebrities, who will select a winner. The victorious team will receive a prestigious award but their ultimate trophy is the audience delight!

Merdeka Festival 2007

Merdeka Festival 2007 will coming soon on 25 – 26 August 2007 at UITM Melaka Campus. Many activities awaits u such as debate, free medical check-up, autoshow, walk in interview (opportunities for those doesn’t have work), exhibitions, voice of merdeka, kembara berbasikal, aerobics, green earth concert, extreme games and others. I think this is the first UITM Melaka Campus event since they have a new city campus at Yayasan Melaka building. my workplace (Melaka Tourism Department Unit) just opposites campus. By the way, congratulation to them.

Melaka International Air Carnival 2007

Air Carnival 2007

Melaka International Air Carnival 2007 will start on 17 – 19 August 2007 at Batu Berendam Airport, Melaka. This event organized by Melaka State Government and supported by MTPN Melaka, Tourism Malaysia Melaka, Jabatan Penerbangan Awam, Malaysian Airport, Kelab Penerbangan Belia 4B, EON, MAS and Modenas. It’s first time in Melaka and we do hope to organize this event yearly. The launching day on 18th August 2007, 9am and our lovely Melaka Chief Minister will officially launch this event. For this event, I also contribute in doing the CM speech. Actually, the speech was doing by Mr. Akbar Ali, my ex-boss. For me, he really 100% wants every speech that he done, must be fulfill our CM’s need. Back to the event, for those who are really like to fly in skies and see the beautiful of world…you can try the air package at this carnival. Only RM50 / pax for 20 minutes in the air.
