Airport & Passport…

WAYN.com (Where Are You Now?) recently doing a survey on travelers about their experience using various airport around the world. The Reuters report doesn’t state about Malaysia but our neighboring country Singapore Changi voted as the shortest queues. As we aspect, country that have tight security at the airport are country which has Veto Power at United Nation that is U.S(JFK New York/Los Angeles International) and London (Heathrow ). With the best security passenger also will experience longer passport control queues. Airport like in Bangkok, Amsterdam and Rome are vice versa when it comes to security check.

Have you check with your insurance agent if your insurance policies cover for International Emergency Assistant? This will come in handy if you going to travel personally. It will be different when you traveling with a company or a government trip that will be a lot safer. Usually I will travel with a government group, so it will be less to think about the personal safety. I never think about travel insurance till I read about MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents) stating the important of travel insurance.

Melaka trying to be Nation Medical Hub.

Melaka are ready to boost the state medical industry with the development plan of few medical infrastructure. Currently Melaka have 3 private hospital and each district have own General Hospital (government hospital). The 3 private hospital are Putra Hospital, Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) and Pantai Hospital. All the private hospital are in the town area. The newest addition of private hospital will be a Melaka Straits Medical Centre in Klebang.

What more is, a World Class Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Center will be develop at Bemban, Jasin Melaka. Apart from that, Bemban is a small town in Jasin District will be a City of Health and Education in Melaka. The World Class Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Center will own by Social Security Organization (SOCSO) of Malaysia or known as PERKESO. This centre is aimed for any injured employees all over Malaysia to undergo physiotherapy training. The center will be component no 5 in Bemban City of Health and Education. Other component in the Bemban City of Health are Nursing College Ministry of Health, Inland Revenue Board Training Center, Cyberjaya College University and a Medical College by Indian Investor.

Malaysia First SME’s Street Mall

Melaka will have a RM100million ‘Street Mall’ for promoting and exhibit SME’s products from all over Malaysia. Melaka CM said that the project is the first investment from Ministry of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Malaysia (MECD) under UDA Holdings Bhd (UDA). The joint venture project with Melaka City Hall (MBMB) expected to be completed end of 2010.

The ‘Street Mall’ will be develop in 2 phase, 1st will be development of 300 commercial lots and one 4 star hotel with 240 rooms. The project is located at a 2.4 hectare land at Tun Ali Street (Old Melaka Wet Market). When completed this mall will be a one stop center for exhibiting, promoting, distributing and selling SME’s products from all over Malaysia. This will create a huge network of local products sales. Priority will be given to the manufacturer of products from SDSI (One District One Products) and others.
