K5 restaurant is new in town but will be my favorite spot when going home late. Situated along Jalan Semabok opposite the Esso Semabok Gas Station, this restaurant features a Contemporary design themes. why I said it will be my favorite spot? This is because it has many soup base menu and porridge, for those who dont want to eat heavy things late at night. K5 open from 6.00pm to 3.00am. In this Euro 2008 season the restaurant will closed maybe even late. For those with laptop, broadband wireless also available.

Melaka Satay Celup

Its satay again!. But this one going deep into the boiling pot. Satay celup is famous for chinese and a trade mark for Melaka. Normal satay are grilled with coal but satay celup are boiled similar to steamboat. With satay celup you can have more choice of dishes mainly seafood and vegetables. Choose your choice of food (usually satay celup is self service) and the hawker or mr.chef will dunked it into a boiling pot of water, then boila! your satay celup is ready semi cooked. They will serve you with thick and aromatic sauce for dipping.

The highlighted spot for satay celup today is Semabok Inn Hotel. Although there are many places for satay celup in Melaka, Semabok Inn is Halal for muslim customers.Semabok Inn Rated as The Best Service for 2 star hotel last year by the State Government. Located at Jalan Semabok, the hotel restaurant open from 12noon to 1.00 am for satay celup lovers.

Gazebo Satay House @ Melaka Up Town

A new restaurant will opens at Melaka Up Town. The All Satay Gazebo like Restaurant. Located at Jalan Hang Tuah, opposite the Plaza Hang Tuah Shopping Mall and at the back of Metropole Hotel. Before the Gazebo Satay House the place was a parking lot. Opening Ceremony will be attend by the Governor and CM. This gazebo satay launching also one of the Melaka Tourism Street Carnival event. So guys, come and maybe there will be a free Satay!.

Cendol Jam Besar

Another cendol spot in town sure will make your sunny day a cooler day. Located among the busiest street in Banda Hilir, the stall will be easily seen from the road. The name Cendol Jam Besar (Big Clock Cendol), tells you where it is. A walking distance opposite the cendol stall is the Melaka Historical Clock Tower. Along Jalan Gereja and surrounded with the Stadhuys Complex Building.

Look at the price list, still cheap and good enough although located at the tourist spot. RM1.20 to RM1.50 a cup.

Quayside Cafe & Seafood Restaurant – Dine @ Melaka River Side

It once use to be a small jetty for small ship park to load their stuff into the warehouse . Now the warehouse is turn into a nice restaurant. All international menus are here. The seafood here are taken fresh from the nearby fisherman village.You can pick the fish, cuttlefish, prawn,clam, crab and then the chief will cooked it. Grilled, sweet & sour , fried with flour or steam. The restaurant also served the famous Asam Pedas and all sort of thai food like tom yam.

Quayside Cafe & Seafood Restaurant is located at Jalan Quayside, 75000 Melaka. You can easily spot this place as it is along main route to Banda Hilir & Dataran Pahlawan. From Stadhuys complex go straight, first you can see the Tourist Information Centre then after that at the right is Melaka water Mill. The restaurant is just at the side of the water mill opposite to the Aldy hotel.

A Haunted Cool Cendol…

Hot days in January…when its 2.00pm you will start to feel the heat. It will burns right through your tongue. Then you drive on the busy traffic with blazing sun and hitting the dust. Suddenly not far away you can see an auntie is grinding a large ice cube. That’s it… a famous local cuisine / desserts. A Cendol.
