Why? Because our King of fruit will be featured in Malaysia Tourism Promotion Campaign. Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen said that Tourism Malaysia will introduce “durian trail” package. Malaysian sure like to eat Durian and now the world are learning to feel the taste.

“We have suggested that the Agriculture Department discuss with durian orchard owners and to contact the Tourism Ministry when the durian season arrives so that we can devise a package for tourists,” she told reporters after opening a durian-eating competition here Friday.”

It’s a seasonal fruit and that make Durian unique to promote. China are among importers of our durians. At Singapore, durian is expensive and the durians are imported from Malaysia.

Our close rival in durian Business is Thailand that famous for its ‘Siam Durian’ which is available through out the year. Although its more thicker than Malaysian Original Durian, but no match for our strong odor, golden color and acidic durian. You body temperature will arise quickly when eating the original Kampung Durian.

Now we how 2 option of commercially made donuts. Its JCO. How do you spell it? Jay….Co or Jay Cee Ooow? Before this, donuts lovers goes to Big Apple donuts at Dataran Pahlawan. Having a donuts at JCO and I can’t really tell the taste differences.

More than 1,000 chefs to cook up a storm in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 1,000 professional chefs from around the world will converge here to outdo one another in the World Golden Chef Competition.Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen said about 50,000 visitors were expected to attend the three-day event which starts on July 30.Chefs from 25 countries, from as far as Spain and Canada, will be dishing out their culinary best at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

China will be sending the highest number of contenders, with a delegation of 650, followed by Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, US, Netherlands and Britain.

Got you favorite Nasi Lemak, Laksa or Bak kut teh? Tourism Ministry wanting your vote and they will make it official top 50 best place for the three. Malaysia have variety of Asian cuisine as 2 world major races here that are Chinese and Indian. Not to mention other local ethnic and minority like the Eurasians. Among all the food the ministry chooses 3 major Malaysian favorite dishes. Nasi Lemak, Laksa and Meat Bone Tea@ Bak Kut Teh.

Nasi Lemak

Hot cooked rice with pandan aroma steamed with coconut cream goes heavenly well with sizzling spicy sauce or ’sambal’. Generous sprinklings of roasted peanuts and salty dried anchovies
with a hard boiled egg perfect this dish.

Usually taken on breakfast, have many package of Nasi Lemak. The fast nasi lemak or the heavy one. Every morning we can get the fast Nasi Lemak at every street and hawker stall around Malaysia. Already wrapped in news paper, oil paper and banana leaf. The dishes as simple as Rice, sambal sauce and boiled egg. As cheap as RM1.00 per packets. The heavy one is customized by your self as you can choose the side dish like fried chicken, curry and others.

Laksa.

Laksa is a famous noodle soup from Peranakan culture with coconut based curry soup filled with rich ingredients such as tofu puffs, fish sticks, shrimps, cockles and others. It is served with a spoonful of chilli paste or ’sambal’ and traditionally garnished with Vietnamese coriander, or laksa leaf.

A white noodle soup rich with herb with thick soup made from fish juice, I mean they boiled the fish until the fish turn into fish stock. Usually consume at lunch or at evening time.

Meat Bone Tea

Meat Bone Tea is the direct English translation from the famous Chinese delicacy ‘Bak Kut Teh’ popularly served in Malaysia. Meaty ribs are simmered in a complex broth of herbs for hours to cultivate the thick flatvours.

They said this dishes really originated from Malaysia, invent by Malaysian Chinese…you should tried it.

This is among restaurant in Melaka that you can enter both from the front entrance and at the back. The back entrance also as nice as the front entrance. Seat at the back and you can enjoy dining just at the lazy Melaka River. By the restaurant name, you can guess that this restaurant serve Dutch Food. Yes they serve Dutch food. You can browse the complete Dutch Harbour Cafe menu here.

Dutch Harbour Cafe Melaka located at Stadhuys Shop lot at Banda Hilir along Jalan Laksamana. From Town center you can use Jalan Bendahara. Let say you start from Renaissance Hotel Melaka. Go Straight at Jalan Bendahara until the first traffic light. Than you can see Public Bank on your left and a parking lot on your right. Just go to that parking lot and park there. From the parking lot just walk because the Restaurant is just few blocks away.

Can use this path to the cafe…

I will choose the walking path along the River rather than the shoplot walk away because I can enjoy the river view and the boats. But if you choose to walk in front at the road side, you also can see all the gift shop and art shop along the way. You can bring your laptop here and they provide free access.
