Chingay have been around in Malaysia for about 100years. Chingay is celebrated by Chinese in Malaysia annually and it is famous for the street parade and acrobatic performance like balancing a giant flag that ranges from 25 ft to 32 ft in height and about 60 pounds in weigh. Penang is famous annual Chingay Parade in Malaysia.
Recently Prime Minister announce 148-year-old Johor Baru chingay procession as the latest entry into the country’s intangible cultural heritage list.
