This Statue at Dataran Pahlawan can tell the Story. The Malaysian Independence was first announced in Melaka.
You can visit Banda Hilir to study about Malaysian Independence at Memorial Kemerdekaan Banda Hilir or Independence Memorial. Built in 1911 was once a Malacca Club Building. In 20 February 1956, Malaysia first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj declared Malaysian Independence in front of this Building.
