If you love performing arts, then you will like this event. It’s hard to find a true full time buskers (street performer ) here in Malaysia. Maybe because the money is not worth the value of their performance or in certain place there are no suitable pitch (buskers place for performing their talents) . So rather than busking around they might selling fruits to earn more money. Except for streets in Kuala Lumpur where there are a lot of people in the street, more chances for their performance to get notice. Also the hot weather here not encouraging for the youth to start busking on the open air. Culture and Weather reason I guest.
For Malaccans,now we can begin to learn about busking and the buskers at Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Mega Mall. Old folks said If we don’t know and learn about it how come we can love it. At Dataran Pahlawan it is more like an organize event for the buskers at more orderly place. Not simply at any street at Dataran Pahlawan but at the Main Venue, the Dataran Pahlawan Field. With booth and roofed stage for them to perform.
The organizer even want to do a Malaysia Books Of Records in March by gathering 2000 street performer and also performing at the event. The program called 1 Malaysia Busking Park. Held from now to 19 Mac 2010. Their official website here.
