When the country already have unique asset like age old history or oldest rain forest for example, the task is only to maintain and promote it. The business is easy to setup as there are companies that can setup your spas with franchise license or you can go directly to the spas equipment supplier. Basic equipment in Spa as we all know like saloon bed,magnifier, steamer, extractor, analyzer, jacuzzi, sauna cube and massage bed are available at local supplier. We need just a well train staff.

That is for full scale Spa and Wellness center. Actually, the most important thing for the industry are the people itself. If you inherited a special foot massage technique form your grandmother. Then you can easily rent a small space at the shopping mall with a chair and oil. Now you have your own wellness business with minimal cost. At some countries like Bali, they do the service mobile by approaching the tourist. A professional touch with good PR will make the tourist remember the massage they had.

Spas and Wellness Industry are among industry that we can be so creative and innovative. Everyday we can see many wellness center emerge with different package of products and approach. The just one time big investment and can make money for a long run make it among famous business to tap in. The best thing also we can mix variety of technique in it. With culture diversity we can learn that every race have their own mixture and technique. The traditional Malay healing technique for women to get very thin and sexy after birth for example doesn’t really being explored and turn into commercial spa. Not to mention the native Malaysian tribe that use many rain forest and nature source in their traditional healing. All this can be explored and turn into unique Spa and Wellness package that can attract tourist like Ayurveda and Acupuncture.

Spas and Wellness Industry to be Next Tourism Attraction

PETALING JAYA, Dec 8 (Bernama) — The Spas and wellness industry which is now mushrooming in the country has a big potential to develop as well as become a new attraction in the tourism industry, said Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.

She said according to a survey done in 2007 by Intelligent Spas, the number of spas in Malaysia had grown over 200 per cent since 2002 and currently, there were 170 spas operating with a small one capable of earning an average of RM1,000 per day in sales and conference guests.

She noted that the combination of ancient Eastern therapeutic traditions with modern innovations within the spa services in the country contributed to the development of the industry.

“I am glad to note that our spas are among the country’s most popular tourist attractions and many travel agencies specialise in spa tours for visitors seeking the ultimate relaxing and rejuvenating experience,” she said at the opening of The Spa and Med Beauty in Subang, near here.
