Last Saturday Melaka River Fiesta 2008 started with a Color of Malaysia Parade. The parade starting Point was at Hang Tuah Mall and was release by Datuk Seat Har Chew, State Exco Member of Tourism. Group participating in the Parade were 14 from cultural group resemble all ethnic in Melaka (Malay, Chinese, Indian, Native, Chitty, Baba Nyonya, Portugese), 20 colorful beca and 15 Gen-2 cars Color of Malaysia. Parade end at Herb Garden or Taman Rempah the place for Melaka River Fiesta opening ceremony. Becas were carrying VIP’s from Taman Rempah, winner / runner-up of Miss MTSC and little tot winner / runner up.

When arrived at Herb Garden the main spot for Melaka River Fiesta , the parade group gather at the red carpet from the road side to the main stage waiting for the VIP’s consist of His Excellency and wife, CM and wife, state speaker and state exco members. About 9.00 am all the VIP’s arrived and the Melaka River Fiesta 2008 opening ceremony was officiated by CM.
