Melaka have about 37 active Travel Agent to date. The numbers by race are Malay 19 company, Chinese 15, India 2 and Others 1.
Many of them doing the outbound package rather than inbound. Travel agent in Melaka are encourage to be creative in creating new and fresh package for promoting Melaka outside. By JV with hotel, resort and tourism product owner with useful information they can come out with attractive travel package. Of course lack of eco-tourism product in Melaka are factors that make many Travel Agent to do outbound package to interesting places like an Island that is more profitable.
