Festival Press Conference With State Exco for Tourism Datuk Seet Har Cheow and Mr. AB Dullah State Tourism GM.

Melaka Tourism Promotion Unit, Chief Minister Dept. will be having Melaka Tourism Festival (Festival Pelancongan Melaka 2008) from 25 to 27 April at Jalan Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur. Chief Minister will officially launch the festival on the 25th at 8.00pm. Bukit Bintang has been chosen because the place is a center of attraction in Malaysia.

The festival theme will be Malay Wedding Ceremony. Visitors can witness a full scale Melaka wedding ceremony with Chief Minister will be lifted by a Malay Warrior.At the main stage, there will be a Wedding Couple waiting for the traditional malay wedding sermon to be taken place.Visitors can do the ‘Menepong Tawar’ or blessing the couple with rose water and pot potpourri mixture. Other activities including Traditional Dance, quatrain rally , traditional craft demo, fashion show, tourism quiz, cooking demo, and custom luncheon.

Lunch are prepared for the visitors with Melaka Wedding Ceremony Style. Menu will be ‘Nasi Minyak’ or herbal rice blend with cooking oil, a beef korma, ‘Asam Pedas’ or hot and sour gravy with mackerel or minced meat, acar nanas or pineapple cocktail with spices and many colorful malay cakes. All buffet style.
