This museum is constructed as the replica of the sunken Portuguese ship Flor De La Mar. Visitors can get closer look at Melaka from the famed Malay Sultanate of the 14th century to the Portuguese era, the Dutch era and the British era. It comprises Samudera Museum Phase I – Flor de Lamar (Replica Ship), Samudera Museum Phase II, Royal Malaysian Navy Museum and KD Sri Terengganu ship.

Melaka only have one Mountain and it is the legendary Gunung Ledang (Mount Ophir). Old folk tales stated that Mount Ophir is the place for a Beautiful Fairy Princess. The princess has a magical power that can turn her to any form of human. Example if you run into an old grand mother maybe that grandma is the princess.
Gunung Ledang shared by two state,at the border of Melaka and Johor. In Melaka the place is call Asahan Village and Johor is Sagil Village. Asahan is a remote area and surrounded with thick Jungle. Asahan is one of the reservoir for the Melaka state and the reservoir also used for recreation purpose.

Melaka received about 6.0 million tourist in 2007. An increase about 18% than 2006.
From 6.0 million tourist in 2007, the fraction are:
DOMESTIC – 4,657,248 tourists (77.3%)
Foreign – 1,366,063 tourists (22.7%)
(refer to Table 1)
December 2007 was highlighted as the highest tourist arrivals coming to Melaka, that is about 761,478 tourists. An increase from 614,985 tourists in December 2006. Singapore was the highest foreign country where their people choose Melaka as a favourite destination. China is second, third goes to Indonesia then Hong Kong and South Korea (Refer to Table 1 for more complete data).

Surely this year is not my lunar birth year. Today I will visit few of my Chinese friends and collects Ang Pow!. In this festive season, while we joyfully celebrate with food scattered over the table, driving home with tight bellies and our children pocket full with red notes, there are many needy people in the rest of the world not afford all that. We as Malaysian are fortunate. We could die of eating good food but they can survive just drinking rain water and eating snail.

On 02 February 2008, Miss Tourism Queen Malaysia Final has been held at A’ Famosa Resort Melaka. The Organizer of this event is My Production and supported by Ministry of Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Malaysia and Melaka Tourism Promotion Unit. A Famosa resort is the pageant presenter for this event. The winner will represent Malaysia in World Final in Zheng Zhou, Henan province China. According to the Miss Tourism Malaysia International Queen national director Mr. Yip Chee Weng, the world final will take place from 27th March to the 18th April 2008.

Melaka and Portugal has a long history..The Portuguese has invaded Melaka for 130 years from 1511. Nowadays, A Famosa is the famous Portuguese remains.
