The planetarium is name after a famous and legendary Muslim mathematician, astronomer and geographer – Abu Abdullah Mohammad Ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi.
This 2.5 million project started in 2002 for first phase and second phase in 2006. Al-Khawarizmi planetarium are equipped with multi function digital and 3D infrastructure, first of its kind in Malaysia. With minimal fees RM1.00 to RM2.00 you can benefit the planetarium activities such as planetarium show in 3D and Night Sky Observation. Observation object such as Moon, Venus, Saturn and constellations are available. Hilal Observation for Islamic date and calendar is also part of the Al-Khawarizmi Planetarium function.
