Malaysian International Batik Festival @ KLCC

Last week I went to Kuala Lumpur for unofficial program. After finished with my agenda, I went to KLCC for shopping and maybe my daughter can play with water at the KLCC Park. After busy finding a suitable parking lot, Me, my husband and the little one straight to the KLCC park coz we are planning to shoot 1 or 2 picture with Petronas Twin Tower as a background. When we pop out from Suria KLCC main entrance in front of the park. I can see booth everyway and a beautifully decorated stage with ‘Malaysia Batik’ writing.

Now I know there was an International Event here as the banner and bunting says its ‘International’. The Malaysian International Batik Festival at KLCC is held from 23rd November to 2nd December 2007 in Conjunction with Kuala Lumpur International Batik (KLIB) Convention and Exhibition 2007. This International Batik Showcase was Launched in 2003, to win the Piala Seri Endon batik design competition. The aim is to provide a platform for Malaysia’s batik making talent.

Melaka Sultanate Palace – Melaka Cultural Museum

This is a replica of a Melaka Sultanate Palace known as Istana. The palace was made as it is in the 15 century when the famous king Sultan Mansur Shah ruled Melaka from 1456 to 1477. This building is a Cultural Museum an currently housing about 1,350 items in the form of artifacts, prints, photographs and drawings which represent the history and cultural heritage of the Malay Sultanate of Melaka and the various communities which came to settle and trade in Melaka during 15 – 16 century.

Melaka International Regatta 2007

Melaka International Regatta 2007

From 8 to 13 of November 2007. An International Regatta will set here at the Klebang Beach Melaka. Klebang Beach is popular spot for locals to bring their family on weekend beach picnic and also a place for young couple at night. Although it is not an ideal place to swim, the strong wind and recreation facilities like kids playground, food stalls, seafood restaurant and horse riding make it an ideal place to relax with families. Only 15 minutes from town and 40 minute from Ayer Keroh Highway.

Melaka Tourism Award 2006/2007 – Congratulation to The Winners!!

Melaka Tourism Award 2006 / 2007 was been held on 2nd December 2007 at Holiday Inn Melaka. There was more than 600 peoples came from the all various Melaka tourism players, attended this grand annual award. About 108 nominates from 19 various categories came to celebrate this function. The Honorable of Melaka State Governor with a great honor was presented this award. All the winners were received the trophy and also the greatest certificate from the Melaka State Government.

Turtle Landing in Melaka

In Malaysia, there are many spot for turtle landing and lay their eggs. The most favourite are Rantau Abang Terengganu, Turtle Island in Sandakan Sabah and Pulau Redang. Common turtle found in Malaysia are Leatherback Turtle, Green Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle and Olive Ridley. From this 4 main type of turtle, Only the Hawksbill turtle are landing and lay eggs at Melaka Beach.

Melaka have one Turtle Management Centre for the purpose of protecting these endangered species and scientific research. And for that whoever taking the turtle egg or killing the creature will face a serious sentence from the government. The centre is located in Kampung Padang Kamunting at Masjid Tanah Area of Alor Gajah District.
