Today, only once a life we are celebrating our 50th years Merdeka Celebration. As a Malaysian, I’m so proud and happy because this is the 50th years of golden celebration. For me, Merdeka is so meaningful. I think as a Malaysian, we should be proud of ourself because Malaysia is the most lovely country in the world. The only Asian country with the multi racial people live in harmony and peace. Besides that, we are rich with our culture and heritage.That’s why… Malaysia known as Malaysia Truly Asia.

Holland Days in Melaka, 2-9 September

From 2-9 September there will be Holland Days in Melaka. Holland in Melaka? But Why? East meet west? Actually Melaka about 3 centuries ago played a vital role for the Netherlands as a major trade hub for the Dutch East India Company between 1641 and 1825. To this day, many of the most visible buildings like the Stadthuys town hall and Christ Church are built by the Dutch.

The Event was organized by Melaka Historic City Council, the Melaka Chief Minister’s Department the Museum Corporation of Melaka (PERZIM), the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This event is in conjuction with our 50 years celebration of Malaysian Independence and 50 years of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the Netherland.

Melaka International Tourism Show (MITS) 2007

Melaka International Tourism Show (MITS) 2007 will organize by Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) on 26 – 28 October 2007 at MITC, Ayer Keroh, Melaka in celebration of Visit Malaysia Year 2007. This event also supported by Melaka State Government and Ministry of Tourism. During this events, you will get chance to enjoy the tourism exhibition exspecially from Melaka, other state in Malaysia and also from the other countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and China. Don’t forget to get the attractive tourism packages for your next holiday. Futthermore, there will cultural performance on stage, which has been retrieved the Melaka culture. You also can join the adventurous sport game, lucky draw, singing performance, drawing contest and chill out with the clowns. A lot of discounts awaits you in this event. Hopefully, this event will promote Melaka tourism industry and help turn Melaka as well as Malaysia into one of the top tourist destination in the world. Directory of University & College in Melaka 2007 (IPTA / IPTS)

Education is under Melaka Tourism Sub-Sector. Melaka State Government have a long term plan to ensure that it can provide world class education facilities, so that many International student will choose Melaka to study. Now Melaka have few universities and hundred of private college. Some have been recognized internationally Like Multimedia University.

Currently I’m compiling the directory of university and college all over Melaka. Although it is not fully completed, you can download it here for free. Comment appreciated.

From 16th of August to 29th August 2007, Melaka State Government is showing all the picture relating to the Malaysia Independence for Public Viewing. All of this picture including never seen before historical picture of Tunku Abdul Rahman our Father of Independence at London and scene of the preparation before the proclamation.

There are many historical moments of Tunku and the accompanying leader week before the Independece at Kuala Lumpur, United Kingdom and Melaka. The Camera man was Mr.Michael Wong Swee Lin now at the age of 81. Dont miss this opportunity to view all the historical document and you can bring along your camera too and taking picture is allowed.

Tourist Arrival in Melaka by Nationality,1999-2006

Melaka records a great number of tourist from all over the world since the early time. The main attraction are historical monument and multi racial community from outside that blends well with the locals.
