Round 4 National Paint ball League will took place at Dataran Pahlawan, Banda Hilir on 2nd to 3rd August 2008. 60 team will fight in this ‘legal’ war zone. RM38,250.00 cash prizes are to be won for competition that will be divide into 4 divisions, where by RM36,000.00 cash waiting for overall divisions champion and will be crown as Malaysian Paint ball League Champion.

The heat will start as early on 1st August at 3.00pm where all the participants will do a war zone checking known as “Walk The Field”. So guys, walk the talk by entering My-NPL official website here and fight for your medal of honor. Registration still open until 30th July.

For those love bird out there you are welcome to Mahkota Parade Banda Hilir on 25 to 27 July and after that sure you will not think twice to get married. Life Publishers Berhad will organize Wedding Exhibition at Mahkota Parade concourse area. This Wedding Exhibition will jointly organize by local news paper Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press.

“Romance in Faith” will be this year theme. The objective of this event are to provide information about latest wedding trend and wedding package to visitors. A Bridal fashion show also will took place with all wedding attire from Modern, contemporary and local costume will be shown.

Melaka State Tourism Exco, Datuk Seat Har Cheow is expected to officiate the ‘Grand Vintage Car Parade’ that will bring all the bridal models from Jalan Tun Ali to Mahkota Parade on 25 July at 5.00pm. State Exco for Public Work and Utilities Datuk Gan Tian Loo will officiate the wedding exhibition on 26 July at 12 noon.

Visitors to the wedding fair also will get a chance to win lucky draw and the exhibition will start from 11am to 9pm. So couples, now you get the idea where to date this 25 to 27 July.

Today 20th July, about 3000 people gathered at Melaka Botanical Garden to participate the Florathon 2008. The event supported by Ministry of Tourism Malaysia was in conjunction with Malaysia Floral Fest 2008.

  • Malaysia’s very own Floral Fest was given inspiration through having won many accolades and collected awards over the years at the world renowned Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in USA.

    This year’s theme, “Colours of Harmony” will resonate throughout the month of July with participative events and activities organised at several venues around Malaysia. This floral parade is the first such event to be organised in South East Asia to date and is open to everyone including private and governmental organisations in Malaysia and also international participants.

  • Participants from all over the country gathered here as early as 7.00am to register. The air was full by fresh flowers scent as participants decorating their bodies with fresh flowers. Few foreign tourist also come to enjoy the floral walk and there is a special category for them. The walk was started by Rt. Hons Datuk Seri Mohd. Ali bin Mohd. Rustam Chief Minister of Melaka. Datuk Seri Himself also joining the 3km walk and finished about 30mins later. As for me I’m not joining the race because I’m was one of the Jury and I’m 8 month pregnant haha. Why a jury? As previous post, this walk was not determined by the fastest athlete but participant creativity and presentation.

    After the inscription of Melaka as a heritage site by UNESCO on 7th July 2008 together with Georgetown of Penang, Melaka State Government surely have a long term plan. The state government will setup a Heritage Steering Committee headed by State Secretary. Datuk Seet Har Cheow Melaka State Tourism Exco said that the committee will work closely with Melaka Historic City Council Conservation Committee as well as NGOs. The state steering committee will be including NGOs as well.

    State government hope that Melakkan who still carrying the traditional businesses to maintain their heritage shop houses and state government will assist them on ways to make their compound alive. The committee also will keep in touch with KEKWA (Ministry of Culture and Heritage) to get their authorities to brief as well train the officers in the newly form committee. For info, The World Heritage Committee meets once a year and consist of representatives from 21 of the States Parties to the Convention elected by their General Assembly.

    On the other hand, a Celebration in conjunction the new recognition will be held in the whole month of August and the final celebration will be on 31st of August. Part of the activities is to put an inscription stone as to remembering the Melaka success. Other activities will be known soon.

    Chicken rice is common to all Malaysian. Chicken rice also known as the Hainanese chicken rice originated from China now part of the national daily food and it’s the fastest food you can order at the restaurant. The serving also suitable for lunch time as the package are complete with rice, chicken, salad, soup and sauce. Usually chicken rice serve in a plate where the rice is pour in to it with a measure of one soup cup.

    However in Melaka, there is one famous chicken rice restaurant that made the rice into a ball. A rice ball. The place is Famosa Chicken Rice Ball. The restaurant is quite famous locally and nationally. Equipped with new technology, the rice ball are not produce bay hand anymore but using a machine it as to produce quality and hygiene rice ball. Famosa Chicken Rice restaurant got 5 branches in Melaka and only one have a halal certificate. The halal branch is at Tesco store. The other four branches serve non halal food.
